Backyard Landscapes That Breathe — Thoughtful, Practical, Local

We design private yards that balance beauty with purpose: resilient planting palettes, efficient micro-irrigation, comfortable outdoor rooms and low-maintenance materials. Our work begins with a careful site analysis—soil, sun, wind and access—then moves through concept sketches to a clear implementation plan that your contractor or our build team can execute. The result is a backyard that feels composed, supports local ecology and reduces upkeep burden so homeowners enjoy time outside instead of endless gardening chores.

Core Advantages — Design That Pays Back

Careful planning, resilient planting and construction that reduces future effort.

Water-wise Planting & Microclimate Design

We tailor planting schemes to local rainfall patterns, soil moisture regimes and shadow patterns so each plant thrives where it sits. This reduces irrigation needs, improves survivability and creates layered interest through seasonal structure and textural contrasts. Strategic tree and shrub placement creates shade and wind buffers for the house, reducing external heat load while enhancing outdoor comfort. We select species with proven local performance and low maintenance requirements and intersperse biodiversity-supporting elements such as pollinator corridors to strengthen the garden's ecological function.

Durable Hardscape & Low-maintenance Materials

Hardscape selection focuses on longevity and ease of care: paving that resists movement, permeable surfaces that manage runoff, and timber or composite decking specified for low decay risk. We design transition details—edging, drainage, and planting pockets—that limit weed ingress and simplify seasonal cleaning. By pairing the right materials with thoughtful detailing, pathways, terraces and seating zones retain their appearance and function with minimal intervention.

Practical Irrigation & Water Management

Effective irrigation begins with zoning and pressure-balanced distribution. We specify efficient drip lines, targeted micro-sprays, and valve arrangements that support staged watering according to plant groups. In many designs we incorporate rain-harvesting opportunities and soil-improving methods—mulch, compost and swales—that help retain moisture and reduce mains consumption. The combination of good soil practice and targeted water delivery dramatically cuts routine watering chores.

User-focused Outdoor Rooms & Flow

We think of small gardens as a series of rooms: a sunny breakfast corner, a shaded lounge, a service yard for bins and compost, and flexible planting beds. Path networks guide movement and create visual axles so the space feels larger and more coherent. Furniture positions, lighting and sightlines are considered early in the design so the finished garden supports daily routines—relaxing, gardening, playing or entertaining—without awkward compromises.

Buildable Drawings & Contractor-friendly Documentation

We deliver clear construction drawings, planting schedules, material lists and phase plans so local contractors can quote accurately. Our documentation includes measured plans, section details, and installation notes for irrigation, drainage and lighting. This reduces miscommunication on site and helps projects stay on budget and on time. For clients who prefer, we can tender works to trusted landscapers and oversee build quality through site visits.

Seasonal Maintenance Programs & Handover Guidance

After installation we provide a seasonal care plan and an optional maintenance contract to keep the garden healthy as it matures. Handover includes plant care notes, watering calendars and pruning guides so homeowners know how to support the design. Periodic check-ins during the first two years help address establishment issues and fine-tune irrigation timings to match real-world conditions.

about our team

About Us — Local Designers, Practical Builders

We are a small studio made up of landscape designers, horticultural specialists and site supervisors who focus exclusively on private yards. Our practice values careful listening and iterative development: every brief begins with a conversation about how you want to use your outdoor space now and in five years. That user-led thinking informs planting choices, material selections and phased build proposals that suit your budget and lifestyle.

Over successive projects we’ve developed reliable local supply chains and a network of trusted landscapers, masons and irrigation technicians. This network allows us to match design intent with practical build capacity and to stand behind completed works. We document every decision so clients understand trade-offs between cost, durability and maintenance.

Sustainability is part of our operating logic: we promote reused materials, choose species that support pollinators and design systems to conserve water. The aim is always to produce gardens that are delightful to use, resilient to changing conditions, and simple to keep looking good.

Services — From Concept to Established Garden

A complete offering for private garden projects small and modest in scale.

services overview

Site Survey & Diagnostic Report

We visit the site to assess solar access, drainage, existing vegetation and microclimate. The diagnostic report includes a measured plan, sun/shade diagrams, soil observations and prioritized recommendations to guide design and budgeting.

Concept Masterplan & 3D Visualization

Concept options with sketch plans, perspective visuals and mood boards so clients can choose an approach. 3D views help verify spatial relationships and select materials before construction.

Construction Documentation & Tendering

Detailed drawings, material schedules and a scope-of-works package that local landscapers use to price the job accurately. We can manage tendering and compare contractor proposals on your behalf.

Project Oversight & Site Supervision

Regular site inspections, coordination with trades, and quality control to ensure the design intent is realized. We advise on field adjustments and approve practical substitutions when conditions require.

Planting & Establishment Support

Planting plans, sourcing of specified stock grades, installation guidance and a tailored establishment schedule including watering, mulch and early pruning to secure healthy growth through the first seasons.

Maintenance Planning & Seasonal Visits

We prepare an easy-to-follow maintenance plan and offer seasonal visits for irrigation tuning, pruning, and replenishment of mulch or plant replacements during the establishment phase. Optional retainer-based maintenance is available for clients preferring a hands-off approach.
